We are delighted to present you to the amazing Caroline Schrader, the heart and soul of City Winery Chicago's wines. Caroline, our beloved Winemaker of City Winery Chicago, shows true passion.

Caroline contributes a wealth of experience and knowledge refined over the years, as she is passionate about creating wines that speak volumes of care and competence. Her foray into wine began with a belief in the age-old notion that excellent wine is created through hands-on labor, patience, and an uncompromising dedication to innovation.

Caroline's journey before her stellar career at City Winery took her through the bustling streets of Chicago, where she worked her magic at Wild Blossom Meadery and Winery in the city's Beverly area. Her skills also extended to journalism, where she wrote a monthly piece for the Chicago Sun-Times Media Group on her wine-related thoughts and love.

But Caroline's quest does not end there. Prior to her career in winemaking, she worked as an architect at the prestigious Chicago firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz, where she earned a master's degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Caroline, driven by an intense hunger for knowledge and a desire to perfect her art, pursued an academic career at the prestigious University of California, Davis, studying enology and viticulture.
